and rapidly...
One day you have a gym, the next day you don't. One day you have a steady base of clients the next day they are standing outside in the parking lot and no one is writing you a paycheck. Luckily, someone is taking over and we just have to go a few blocks to resume life as we know it. What a shocker though!
If I had worked so hard for several years and had built something that people relied on and got used to, I would have such a hard time pulling up anchor and sailing away in the dead of night, but does one really have a choice? I think yes. Notices can be sent out and options can be evaluated. But that's hard, because one would have to publicly admit the failure and face the frustration and uncertainty of moving forward in a different direction. It can be done. People may have even had sympathy for the situation and the predicament and would've been a little more understanding. Some would have. Others are wondering how they are going to recover two weeks of pay and the future without a job. How? It's always the little people who suffer. The ones who just went to work every day and got a paycheck every two weeks. The ones who have to search and apply for other jobs and are hoping to survive in the meantime. But who cares about them?
They are not creditors, nor are they clients who will cause ruckus or hurt the business in some way. They are just hurting themselves.
Well, I think of them and I feel sorry for making them loose fate in a future employer, and making them loose motivation to overachieve and be a team player and be friendly, because it's all been stumped on and poo-d on. Their loyalty means nothing. Their enthusiasm is not expensive to throw out. Their paychecks are dismissible.
But I tell you what! Bad karma will be on those who dismiss the little people like grass seed on Shasta. That, and my gypsy curse!
Have a great weekend people, get outside!
