That's what I have so far. And why? oh, well, self expression, I guess...Venting... Reaching out, being frustrated, being overwhelmed, being happy and elated and hopeful and disgusted.
Which is it today?
hmmm.. how much wine have I had? None, so far. So it should be a happy one. I don't particularly have any passionate issue floating in my head right now (and lately), just the usual suspects. Such as my adorable puppy Shasta and my fun and lovely scooter, my mostly rewarding work and my overwhelmingly inspiring volunteer group and the disgusting human race.
oops! Yeah... went to the movies.
And I continue doing this and surprise myself when I find how much I don't enjoy doing that. People are not pretty, for the most part. Families, couples, women, children, overweight, overfed, and messy and inconsiderate. And this is MY free time and MY way of spending money? Why? so I have a BIGGER SCREEN and a louder sound?? Is everything better heightened to the roof?? Not if I have to be in a zoo!
Standing in line, I count the next 10 people and cannot find a not overweight one. So I count to 15. Than I get one. But everyone is carrying the horrible snacks that the theaters serve up for a lot of money. I mean, you could get seared tuna for the price of nachos, and so on and so forth. Why do we still need to have crap to eat at the movie theater?? Is this a law? In THIS free country? I don't get it....
Than inside, after the reminder to shut the f...n fones off, someone will have their cellphone go off and lets it ring because he's not supposed to talk on the phone so he won't answer it. Than the exiting process when people just stand up and walk away from the pig sty they and their children leave on and around the chairs. Because they are OUT. And it's not their job to pick up the trash and take it to the receptacle.
Just like earlier this weekend when I stopped by Old Navy to check out the sale... I spent 3 minutes in there...you would think it was a mob inside the store, everything was thrown everywhere, people tripping over things and other people. It's so sad that we want a better life, we want to be treated better, get better service and have a nicer environment but we cannot even act as a decent human being. I don't get it.
Than I come home, flying on my pistachio scooty and being greeted by my loving girl, Shaz who (as scheduled) peed on the bathroom floor and wants to have her dinner right away because she hasn't eaten in days... or so it seems. But I love her and I love being at home. I love watching my subtitled foreign films and munching grapes or sipping wine and having the little heater sitting next to me waiting for a hand to pet her soft hair. I love my own reliable good company and the scent of eucalyptus on my coffee table. I love the simple comfort my huge red couch offers and the freshly bottled cold tap water in my fridge. I think I am turning into a hermit and I'm not sure that I mind at this point.
I only hope that by being nicer and fitter and more passionate about things than the average bear I spread some awareness and/or a desire to change things by changing ourselves. WE cannot expect to have a better anything if don't expand some effort of our own first. It's a funny thing, this being a better citizen/person thing, it is sort of catchy! So try it, pick up after yourself and teach others good manners. Be patient and courteous and always respectful with the elders. Kids need to know their place, they are NOT in charge of the family or anything, for that matter. And lead by good example - if you're overweight, take some freakin' nuts to snack on and don't drink that soda! Or else, don't expect sympathy... I've got none. Might as well start smoking too.
Have a great week, be back soon!

The art of deception by baking
Yes, Publix gets the grand price of Making things look yummie when they suck!
I see a beautiful bakery with shiny pastries and fluffy baked goods and the visual effect is like on the 7th floor and when you taste it, reality drops you like a broken elevator to the basement. How do they do that? I mean, do they learn to bake with pictures, rather than ingredients? Is there a special class entitled: How to leave essential elements out of a baking recipe? No, I got it! They hired a make up artist. They own stock in corn syrup, because there is no shortage of THAT! Some cane sugar and vanilla would do wonders too. I don't know. Maybe my expectations are too high. I want to taste what I see, and it's not happening. It's like a dating site...it all looks good until it's in your mouth. Wait, that's not the right phrasing...It all looks great until you get in it. Yeah, that would work for dating too. Not that I would know about it...lol.
Oh well, there's always crepes...Crap!

My Roots
I recently reconnected with the Hungarian community by visiting the local Hungarian American Club and I have to say I am glad I did. Though the music haven't improved much in the nearly 20 years I haven't listened to it, it was enjoyable talking to other Hungarian guys and gals and pausing in mid sentence to try and think of a word - in Hungarian.
Anyway, maybe reconnection is a bit generous, I had talked to fellow Hungarians and some of their non Hungarian spouses. I though that for the non Hungarians to be there was a really cool thing to do and we appreciated their contribution and interest and openness about our culture and language and cuisine. The club itself is a simple little building with lots of older souls in it which the younger members are trying to liven up by attracting the next generation and encouraging participation and membership. It is important to keep up with one's heritage - I think - to know that there is some place from which our stubborn pride comes and on which our love of bad foods can be blamed...lol. (is this proper english?)
So, I hope to see more people there and also take more people so we can all heighten our appreciation for the Hungarian hospitality, good nature and bad foods...I love our bad foods!
So long, sziasztok!

attention golfers!
It is nice how you love the sport and travel all over the place to cook your brain for half a day on the course and have the pretty outfits and $10000 gear, the Frenchman's sticker on your car and so forth.
I am just "busting your chops"... because someone has to! Because in addition to all your preparation, expert DVDs and spiritual tapes, the pro and and the lessons and special clubs: be smart and build from the bottom. Start with your chops, for instance!
If you want to improve your game (and who doesn't?), start with yourself, with your body, before investing in the specialized gear and attention.
Here's how:
1. Weight train but not crazy heavy, keep it safe and do higher reps.
2. Save your shoulders: do internal and external rotational exercises reguralry
3. Train your legs
4. Train your core
5. Do wrist rotations and forearms exercises.
7. Do balance and agility exercises
As I preach all of the time - keep it wholesome, everything has its place but the foundation has to be laid.
Have fun out there:)

invest smartly
I talked about your investment in your quality and length of life before, so I think it's obvious that if you deem this important (which you should!), you would do the homework before the action to make sure you are not wasting your money.
How to do it?
Look into different exercise routines, aerobics classes (which most gyms offer a variety of, and free of charge to members), weekend groups (go to meetup.com and local clubs' sites) and talk to people around you. What do they do?
If you are a beginner I suggest to take the gym classes. If you can run, find a local running club (like roadrunners.com) and tag along on a short run. Go to a local cycle shop and ask questions. Go to the local community pool and check their schedule for swimming instructions.
If you are not a beginner and have some base fitness, check out the hype about crossfit and like groups. There are boot camps and various runner's training, triathlete training and cycle groups, find your poison. Local shops are a good start, sometimes your chiropractor or doctor may have a reference too, that you would trust.
At the gym, venture out and try the different tools/toys. Pick up a band, step on a Bosu, anything that you feel safe doing alone but not sure that you could master - give it a try!
When all else fails and you just HAVE TO spend money for a trainer, commit to a 12 session 1 month program at least (otherwise you really have wasted your money) and see what kind of results you'll get. But before you start, make sure you have picked the right gym where you are not uncomfortable and not too far from home. Spend some time as you are playing around/working out, and watch the trainers train. As I said it before - and I say it again - if that trainer is not 100% focused on the client don't even give him/her the time of day. Ask the front who they recommend. Ask the older members too. Than sit and talk with the prospective trainer before you sign and pay. He or she might be a fantastic trainer but your personalities will clash. Not good. Move on. Don't settle, it's your body, your money, your life you are investing in, do your homework!
In the end: it's well worth it!
Trust me! (wink, wink)

invest in yourself
Although training is not for everyone, it is extremely beneficial for most people, if one finds the right person with whom to train.
The benefits and value that can be gained by hiring a professional will stay with you forever and it is all an investment in your future LIFE. The length, quality and happiness of your future, literally, can be resting on your physical fitness habits and routines and your mentality towards those. It is NOT to be discounted or dismissed. I have said it before and I'll tell you again, it had pretty much saved my life and had made me much much stronger, not just physically but mentally too. It is not to be discounted...
So while personal training is expensive and sometimes unproductive (if you are not honest with yourself or happen to hire the wrong trainer), yet it can completely redirect your future. It is not a sales pitch, you know by now how I preach about regular exercise - let's go down the list again!
Its benefits range (and I'm sure I won't be able to think of all) from:
1. Heightened self esteem (and who doesn't need that, honestly?)
2. Improved self image - confidence
3. Better physique
4. More balanced mood with a positive tilt
5. More balanced sleep pattern
6. Heightened metabolism
7. More fun - social connection with like minded people
8. A more positive disposition - outlook on life
9. Longevity
10. Balance - stability - self reliance at older age
11. Better role model - inspiration for others
12. Better lover!
Need I think of more??? Is your 401K going to give you half of this? So where are you going to invest?
Wherever you think it's most important. That's where...

weight loss simplified
I give you 3 easy ways to drop a pound of fat, which, by the way, is equal to about 3500 Calories. So you must take away (lose) those 3500 calories. You can, 1. eat less, 2. burn more (run, work out), or 3. eat a little less and work out a lot more.
You cannot, however, take a pill and get cut up by a surgeon and expect great results. Everything has side effects, even exercise. I, for instance, have cut down majorly on make up and wardrobe expenses (since I sweat a lot). But I still like to look in the mirror...
Find your fit, start exercising. Today, literally, there are hundreds of ways you can move your body to use up energy and become fitter, stronger, leaner and happier. So there's no excuse! And it doesn't have to be expensive either. Ask me and I'll help. Show me a commitment (since I don't really know what those look like...lol) and I'll show you a few ways. One might stick than you'll be set for life. That's all it takes, to find it once! So commit, ask, learn and get moving!
1lb = 3500.

French Open
Isn't one of the funnest things is to watch two handsome and bad-a... athletes duel on the clay court? Federer with his composed graceful self, all about business, and Nadal with his redbull legs and his turbo charged headband... play guys, play! LOL.
Next time: naked?
Next time: naked?
track and field
I was just watching the Prefontaine Classics and I set on my couch with my eyes teary: that's how inspired and in awe I was... to run two miles in 8 minutes and change is just incredible. To see a woman who has won the same 800m 16 times and run her last race to win before retiring is extremely moving to me...and these people are all human, like you and I, yet they are so far above what you and I are capable of - or are they? I wonder if I had trained hard and trained right and consistently where I could be, where I would be now. I wonder if I had done anything at all consistently where I would be. Maybe sitting on a couch watching a track meet. Maybe not.
But I do know something, only half of my life has passed and much of that was not really countable anyway, 'cause I wasn't fully functional and potty trained, if you know what I mean.
So what I will try to do from now on is to be consistent and find my definite goal. A sharp, clear, blindingly bright point that I will chase like Shasta does the neighborhood cats and sidewalk lizards. I must first adjust my eye sight and sharpen my vision if I want to find that glittery dream or else I will continue to wonder around. And if that will be the case my next stop is either Colorado or Italy...so watch out world, my track meet is in the making and I am training to finish this loop.
You know, there aren't many second chances awarded in life and I am running out of cat lives. I am an athlete...in my heart, I always will be!

love my clients
I do... and my fellow fit-body-warriors too. It is so awesome to be doing something that is this rewarding and this much fun, I really love this field! The people are inspiring and the possibilities are endless - one only has to have an active imagination and a relentless desire to progress - to be successful. I am not sure why I started this entry, I think I wanted to talk about my clients and now I have. Fatigue is getting the best of me, good night good people, sleep and grow (muscle, that is)!
pictures
I have lost all of my lovely pics when I changed the template of my blog. If I could only be happy for one thing for more than a month...now I have to reconstruct the story those were telling for it was a really cute one, probably the only thing that I wasn't complaining in, just observing and adoring... stand by, I'll get some more up shortly.
car mirrors
I swear, there are little gremlins that sneak into my car in the dead if the night and make tiny changes of my mirror positions. Especially the driver's side and the rear view... If I could only catch them...
Why else would I have to constantly rearrange them when I get into my car in the morning?
I suppose I am lucky that they haven't messed with my seat or steering wheel...since I am so particular about my race car driver positioning.
