My Roots

I recently reconnected with the Hungarian community by visiting the local Hungarian American Club and I have to say I am glad I did. Though the music haven't improved much in the nearly 20 years I haven't listened to it, it was enjoyable talking to other Hungarian guys and gals and pausing in mid sentence to try and think of a word - in Hungarian.

Anyway, maybe reconnection is a bit generous, I had talked to fellow Hungarians and some of their non Hungarian spouses. I though that for the non Hungarians to be there was a really cool thing to do and we appreciated their contribution and interest and openness about our culture and language and cuisine. The club itself is a simple little building with lots of older souls in it which the younger members are trying to liven up by attracting the next generation and encouraging participation and membership. It is important to keep up with one's heritage - I think - to know that there is some place from which our stubborn pride comes and on which our love of bad foods can be blamed...lol. (is this proper english?)

So, I hope to see more people there and also take more people so we can all heighten our appreciation for the Hungarian hospitality, good nature and bad foods...I love our bad foods!

So long, sziasztok!

Hungarian Foods are not bad!
There are a lot Hungarian who are Fit and eat their meals!

It is a different story that in the USA the life is so easy, and everyone gets fat in 6 months.

The food is never bad, just the lifestyle!
