The art of deception by baking

Yes, Publix gets the grand price of Making things look yummie when they suck!

I see a beautiful bakery with shiny pastries and fluffy baked goods and the visual effect is like on the 7th floor and when you taste it, reality drops you like a broken elevator to the basement. How do they do that? I mean, do they learn to bake with pictures, rather than ingredients? Is there a special class entitled: How to leave essential elements out of a baking recipe? No, I got it! They hired a make up artist. They own stock in corn syrup, because there is no shortage of THAT! Some cane sugar and vanilla would do wonders too. I don't know. Maybe my expectations are too high. I want to taste what I see, and it's not happening. It's like a dating site...it all looks good until it's in your mouth. Wait, that's not the right phrasing...It all looks great until you get in it. Yeah, that would work for dating too. Not that I would know about it...lol.

Oh well, there's always crepes...Crap!
